I always love tattooing birds but this one has a particularly special story! Twice, before Mel knew she was pregnant, kookaburras visited her in remarkable ways—stepping inside her home, calling out to her and hanging around her as if they were her pet birds or she was their pet human! This design is based on Mel’s story—a kookaburra singing her sons’ names. We didn’t photograph the script this time because there was too much leftover stencil on the upper arm. “Should I use numbing cream?” A frequently asked question. For a long time, I’ve had my reservations about numbing creams, which I always explain to clients. And, ultimately, leave the use of numbing creams up to personal preference. But recently, Ash came in for a series of tattoos on some spicy spots and used @numbastay beforehand. She literally didn’t feel a thing—no flinching, no squirming—which allowed me to work faster and finish more pieces in one sitting. The cream did leave her skin quite red but it was minimal and passed quickly. So, Ash got more bang for her buck, more tattoos for less cash… definitely a case of “no pain = more gain” So, if you’re considering numbing up for your next session, definitely give Numbastay a go.
